Nine ways to see this place properly
Guided, low-impact trips into the Sea of Cortez and the Gran Desierto de Altar, led by the researchers and educators who work here. Every booking supports CEDO’s conservation and education work directly, so a day out is also a contribution.

Paddle through calm estuary waters, birdwatch and enjoy the scenery. A bird identification guide is included, and there are oysters afterwards.

At the field station
What you get access to

- Customizable environmental education curricula for groups
The field station
Our field station is in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, with views over the Gulf of California.
Available amenities: dormitories, a fully equipped kitchen, a camping area, a library, a multipurpose room, and restrooms with hot showers.
Optional services at extra cost: a laboratory with basic equipment including microscopes, dissection kits and a wet table; a panga boat for up to 9 people; and a kayak fleet for up to 12.
Who can take part
Groups from educational institutions, clubs and NGOs, and individuals who want a hands-on learning experience in the ecosystems of the northern Gulf of California and the Great Sonoran Desert.
